Astronauts have arrived on the ISS

The Crew Dragon spacecraft reached the ISS about 20 hours after its launch from Kennedy Space Station at Cape Canaveral, Florida, according to the space agency. On board were German Matthias Maurer and Americans Thomas Marshburn, Raja Chari and Kayla Barron.

They are joined by three others, one American and two Russians, who have been on the ISS since April.

The launch was supposed to have taken place at the end of October, but it was postponed repeatedly, first due to bad weather and later for medical reasons.

– After almost exactly one day since launch, # Crew3 is on board the laboratory, NASA writes on Twitter. In the same post, the astronauts hug each other.

Since 2011, Nasa has used Russian spacecraft to transport its astronauts to and from the ISS. Elon Musk’s SpaceX began transporting crews last year with the Dragon vessel.
