Astronauts Describe the First 100 Days in Space, What Will It Look Like?

CALIFORNIA, iNews.id – Astronaut Frenchman Thomas Pesquet has described the first 100 days of his new space mission as magical. But, also routine.

Many Earthlings on terra firma might think living and working on the International Space Station (ISS) offers endless thrills. However, Pesquet cautioned that some of the time spent at the orbiting outpost was far from pleasant.

“I find it magical every day, but there’s also a lot of routine,” the European Space Agency (ESA) astronaut said as he contemplated his first 100 days on the ISS during his second space mission.

As ESA points out, for Pesquet, magical moments will include his first trip aboard SpaceX’s Crew Dragon spacecraft in April when he and his three crewmen blasted off from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center on SpaceX’s third crewed mission.

Also, quite special were his three space trips with fellow astronaut Shane Kimbrough where they upgraded the station’s power system, as quoted from Digital Trends.

More than halfway through his six-month mission, Pesquet has also seen seven different spacecraft come and go — including the departure of the Pirs module after 20 years on the ISS — and the arrival of the Nauka module that doesn’t just take one place.

The initial disruption, but also the ISS’ third and most advanced robotic arm. He will also look forward to meeting Boeing’s new Starliner capsule for the first time, which will dock with the space station on Wednesday, August 4.

Pesquet also feels something magical every time he peeks at Earth 250 miles away—his brilliant photos show it’s a big part of his love for the job.
