“The fact that my ex lives close by is not a problem, but it is nice for the children; they regularly visit him,” she says. The divorce is less smooth. “Of course we had a difficult period after the divorce. We both had pain and sorrow and were angry, but we do have two children. And fortunately they have always remained at the top. He also has a new relationship and it’s completely fine between us.”
After the divorce, Astrid is on her own with the B&B. “I never considered going back to the Netherlands when we split up. It was tough to continue the B&B on my own, but I had no choice. I’ve been in it for about four years now a survival mode. It was always bumbling on. I didn’t have time for stupid emotions and tears.” With the arrival of Harmjan, things are going much better with the B&B diva. “Now that survival mode can finally be turned off. Harmjan was the first to ask me after a long time: ‘As, what do you actually want?'”
