AstraZeneca vaccine – Georgia refused 50 thousand doses

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili confirmed that Georgia refused to donate 50,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine from Latvia. According to him, this is the “sovereign choice” of the country.

Referring to doctors and epidemiologists, Garibashvili said that AstraZeneca injections are less in demand and less priority for the country’s population.

“If there were no vaccines in the country, and we would refuse them, it would be a direct crime,” Garibashvili said.

According to him, now the country has enough vaccine against coronavirus, namely, there are 3 million doses of vaccines in Georgia.

According to him, now there are Pfizer-BioNTech and Sinovac vaccines in Georgia. In addition, authorities have ordered one million doses of Sinopharm vaccine and are working to get another 2 million Pfizer vaccines.
