AstraZeneca to support Austin Dillon at Nascar

AstraZeneca, the pharmaceutical company that is on everyone’s lips right now thanks to its COVID-19 vaccine, will sponsor Austin Dillon in some of the main races of Nascar. Interestingly, Dillon missed a couple of races last year because of testing positive for covid.

Dillon will race the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 from his maternal grandfather’s team, Richard Childress. In his record, only three Cup victories, but in the most important races: Daytona 500, Charlotte 600 and Texas.

Dillon’s No. 3 car will feature advertising for Breztri Aerosphere, a new inhalable aerosol used for long-term treatment of obstructive pulmonary diseases (COPD), including episodes and chronic bronchitis, improving breathing and reducing flare-ups, but is not used for asthma.

“There is a history of COPD in my family, so it is very important to me to be able to help encourage patients to talk to their doctor about their health goals and visit Breztri.com to find out about their treatment option.” said Dillon, whose paternal grandfather, Stan Dillon, had COPD.

Richard Childress’s team is not a new sponsor, but a well-known one as the team and AstraZeneca have been associated for several years. The association is for the entire season, although only in some races will it be the main sponsorship.

Nascar has also had a presence in other seasons of another large laboratory, Pfizer. Just a few years ago he was with the Childress team, supporting Ty Dillon, Austin’s brother, as well as supporting other drivers and even using Nascar to advertise Viagra.

At IndyCar, Charlie Kimball also runs sponsored by medical laboratories specializing in diabetic treatment and equipment. The rider suffers from this disease and must run all the time monitored.
