There were exactly 6,642 vaccinations on Easter Sunday – on Easter Monday the vaccination center in the Hamburg exhibition halls wants to set a new record. And that with only two vaccines.
The vaccine from AstraZeneca in Hamburg was used up – it was vaccinated again on Saturday and then the warehouse was practically empty, said Dirk Heinrich, the head of the Hamburg vaccination center, in an interview with NDR 90.3. As of last week, AstraZeneca has only allowed people over the age of 60 to be vaccinated – this also generated inquiries at the vaccination center, which is why some did not even get vaccinated.

Records in vaccination numbers over Easter
Until supplies are available again, vaccines from Biontech and Moderna should continue for all age groups. The number of daily vaccinations has increased since the beginning of the holidays: on Good Friday and Saturday it was just over 6,000, on Easter Sunday more than 6,600.
People aged 75 and over are eligible for vaccination
In the meantime there was confusion about the question of which age groups are already allowed to make appointments. According to Dirk Heinrich, all people aged 75 and over in Hamburg are entitled to vaccinate – this information should now also be available on the hotline 116 117.
