Many people who want to be vaccinated are unsettled after the current cases of blood coagulation disorders after AstraZeneca vaccinations. Rumors are also circulating on the Internet that blood-thinning medication such as aspirin should be taken before a vaccination. Alexandra Rümmele-Waibel, a consultant for the Vorarlberg Medical Association, does not believe in this advice.
Medical advice is recommended
There is no generally valid statement here, but only one correct way: “So if you have a history of coagulation or are unsure, you should talk to your family doctor, who knows your own medical history, and get in touch with him get advice on which medication to take before or after the vaccination. “
Simply taking a drug without medical advice is anything but advisable or sensible.
Downshift in the event of vaccination refusal
Anyone who has registered for the vaccination and does not want the AstraZeneca vaccine will also not be dropped from the preregistration list, but will have to wait longer, says Rümmele-Waibel: “You are simply moved back and invited again.”
But it could also happen that you get an invitation to the AstraZeneca vaccination again and then, if you reject it, you get back in order.
