Astorga joins the visibility of breast cancer

World Breast Cancer Day is celebrated next Wednesday, 19 October.

In Astorga, on the occasion of this day, Tuesday 18 October, the Local Body Against Cancer of Astorga will set up an information table in Plaza Eduardo de Castro, next to the Palacio De Gaudí. This table will be available for Astorgans from 11:30 to 13:30.

We want to invite all Astorgan to come to the tables to chat with us and to collaborate with
Against cancer once again in Astorga.

We know that the Astorgan are always with us and we thank them for everything they do day after day and for always helping us to improve the situation of people with cancer.

In Spain:
At the national level, on the occasion of this day, the Association launches the campaign “Pink is more than a color”. Through it, everything that has been achieved with the international pink movement and what remains to be done will be revealed. And it is that, behind this pink movement there is a lot of research, support and awareness and it has been reached that breast cancer is one with the highest survival rate, over 85%.

Behind Rosa there are patients, relatives, with their needs, their concerns and their experiences. People who face the great social, work and emotional impact caused by this disease. Much remains to be done as there are still inequalities affecting women with this type of cancer, such as those diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. It has a survival rate of around 25% and accounts for between 5% and 6% of breast cancer diagnoses.

Thanks to the pink movement, great progress has been made in prevention, diagnosis and treatment, but it is necessary to continue to promote research and raise awareness in society so that it does not stop promoting this movement. For this reason, and in the frame of this World Day, the Association is launching a solidarity t-shirt for sale that can be purchased through its online store and at its provincial headquarters.
