Former football goalkeeper, Petr Cech, who played for Rennes, Chelsea and Arsenal, produced an incredible performance this weekend in goal for the Oxford ice hockey team (England).
A successful reconversion. After ending his career in 2019, Petr Cech (41) moved from the football field to the ice hockey rink. With success. The former Czech goalkeeper, who played for Stade Rennais, Chelsea and Arsenal, is now goalkeeper for the Oxford team, which plays in the 2nd English division. And he still seems hard to beat.

The Streatham club players can attest to this. During the confrontation between the Oxford City Stars, whom he joined this season, and the reigning champion, Petr Cech was almost impassable. He stopped 62 of 64 shots, conceding only two goals. A performance which earned him the man of the match award and allowed his team to secure its first victory of the season (3-2). Romford, future opponent of Petr Cech and Oxford, is warned.

Winner of the Champions League with Chelsea in 2012, Petr Cech began his career as an ice hockey goalkeeper in 2019 with the Guildford Phoenix. He then took over as manager of Chelmsford Chieftains in 2022, where he had already produced numerous highly regarded performances. And it is now with Oxford that he achieves feats.
