It was Villa’s fifth loss in a row. In eleven games, the Birmingham club has only ten points, and can end up below the relegation line during the weekend.
– Dean Smith has not succeeded. Then we will see if he stays seated or if this is the end result, said TV 2’s commentator Endre Olav Osnes.
– It will be exciting to see what happens to the Villa manager. Now there is a national team break, and then things can happen, he added.
– I’m a warrior. It is disappointing that we have lost five games, but we have a number of injured players. We will use the national team break to get ready again, says Dean Smith.
Several English media speculate whether Smith may be on his way out the door.
– This is an important match for Villa. I’m a big supporter of Dean Smith, but you can not continue to lose, Sky Sports expert Paul Merson said before the match.
– It is not raining on Smith, it is hail, writes The Guardian.
Still, it seems that Smith will keep the job despite the loss. Journalist Luke Hatfield, who has Aston Villa as a permanent coverage area, believes Smith will not get the job.
Last season, Aston Villa came in eleventh place in the Premier League, and this summer they sold Jack Grealish to Manchester City. They used the money to strengthen the team with players like Danny Ings, Leon Bailey and Emi Buendia.
It has not given immediate success.
Mirror writes that Paulo Fonseca can be the man who is ready to take over.
