The Ukrainian team “burned” with a difference of two goals, but managed to avoid defeat.
“Chelsea” Ukrainian winger Mykhailo Mudryk played a draw with “Aston Villa” in the match of the 35th round of the English Premier League (EPL). The match at the “Villa Park” stadium in Birmingham ended with a score of 2:2.
In the debut of the meeting, Unai Emery’s wards took the lead – in the fourth minute of the game, the defender of the Londoners Mark Cucurella cut the ball into his team’s goal after a shot by the “Lions” midfielder John McGinn.
The Blues had a chance to pull one back in the 16th minute, but Nicholas Jackson’s goal was disallowed for offside by VAR.
At the end of the first half, the home team doubled their advantage in the score – in the 42nd minute, he scored an accurate shot Morgan Rogers.
After the break, Mauricio Pochettino’s men reduced the gap – Noni Madueke in the 62nd minute, he scored from the penalty area into the far corner.
In the 81st minute, the “pensioners” scored for the second time – Conor Gallagher received the ball from Madueke and with a beautiful shot from outside the penalty area hit the far “nine”.
Chelsea could even win in stoppage time. In the 90th + 5th minute, Axel Disassi headed in a close-range cross from Benoit Badyashil from the left wing. However, this goal was also disallowed – Badiašil pushed his opponent in the back before serving.
Mudryk started in the starting line-up of the Londoners and spent 90 minutes on the field, after which he was replaced by Cesare Casadei. Mykhailo earned a yellow card in the 82nd minute. This match was the 27th of this EPL season for the 23-year-old Ukrainian, he has 4 goals and 2 assists.
Review of the match “Aston Villa” – “Chelsea”
After this draw, “Chelsea” (48 points) remained in ninth place in the Premier League. “Aston Villa” (67 points) is in the fourth position.
On May 2, Mudryk and Co. will host “Tottenham” in the postponed match of the 26th round of the English championship, and Emery’s wards will compete with “Brighton” away on May 5.
