Aston Martin team owner Lawrence Stroll is confident that they will soon be able to confirm the signing of Adrian Newey, the designer who made Red Bull a winner.
The owner of Aston Martin, Lawrence Strollhas spoken about his desire to sign Adrian Neweyfollowing reports that a deal will be announced with the engineer Red Bull next week.
Red Bull revealed in May that Newey, who has headed the reigning champions’ design department for 19 years, will leave the team at the start of 2025.

Aston Martin has emerged as the most likely destination for the 65-year-old, although the team has rarely commented publicly on its talks with Newey.
Asked in an interview with Bloomberg whether Newey would move to Aston Martin, Stroll said: “I certainly hope so. Adrian and I have been talking not just for months but for years.”
“Adrian is clearly the most talented and gifted individual in Formula 1 based on his career and history.
“So I would be very excited to have Adrian join our team as I think every other Formula 1 team on the grid would feel exactly the same.”
Asked if he would go all out to sign Newey, Stroll added: “You can definitely assume that.”
Earlier this week, the Daily Mail Newey is reported to be signing a $26m (£20m)-a-year deal with Aston Martin that is likely to be announced next week.
The same publication reported earlier this year that Newey was set to sign a deal with Ferrari, but a move to the Italian team now seems unlikely.
During an F1 career spanning more than 40 years, Newey has enjoyed a number of successful seasons, winning the Constructors’ Championship on 12 occasions with three different teams (Williams, McLaren and Red Bull).
Speaking in May, Newey said: “Ever since I was a kid, I wanted to be a fast car designer. My dream was to be an engineer in Formula 1, and I’ve been lucky enough to make that dream a reality.
“For nearly two decades, it has been a great honour for me to have played a key role in Red Bull Racing’s progress from a newcomer to a multi-title winning team. However, I feel that now is an opportune time to hand over the baton to others and seek new challenges for myself.”
Fernando Alonso He said from the moment it became known that Newey was leaving Red Bull that he would like to work with him.
