Aston Martin F1 “Innovation using” loophole “for AMR23″[F1-Gate.com]

Aston Martin F1 says its 2023 F1 car AMR23 will feature “some clever innovations” thanks to engineers identifying a small loophole in the technical rules.

Aston Martin F1 will announce the new car AMR23, which Lance Stroll and new joining Fernando Alonso will participate in the 2023 F1 World Championship on February 13th.

While expectations are high for the presence of Fernando Alonso, new car deputy technical director Eric Brandin has announced the design of the AMR23. It will likely get a lot of attention when it hits the pitlane in Bahrain at the end of February.

“We’ve introduced some clever innovations into the new car that make it even better,” Brandin said in an interview published on the Aston Martin F1 website.

“They are convenient to have, but they are not indispensable.”

“It’s nice to find a little loophole and use it to your advantage, but it’s rare to build a whole car around it. It is important to continue

“When we start a new car project, we look at the limitations of the previous year, identify how the new design can overcome them, and define an architecture that maximizes future potential.”

“If you pursue the wrong concept, you can lock yourself in and stray from the path of development. Then it becomes a very difficult situation to get out of.”

Unfortunately, Aston Martin F1 found itself in exactly that situation last season when it unveiled its first new-generation car, the AMR22. Its disappointing design led to a change of concept midway through the season.

However, Aston Martin F1 has taken some good lessons and a lot of knowledge from last year and applied it to its all-new 2023 design.

“We applied everything we learned from last year’s car to this year’s car,” he added.

“A lot of the AMR23 is new and completely different from the AMR22. More than 90% of the parts have changed and more than 95% of the aerodynamics are different.”

Blandin has also revealed that, in contrast to some of its rivals, Aston Martin F1 will reveal the actual AMR23 at its presentation at Silverstone on February 13th.

“Like last year, we’re going to reveal the actual car,” said Eric Blandin.

“The car we unveil at our new Silverstone factory on February 13th will be a real AMR23 and it won’t disappoint our fans.”

Aston Martin F1 team owner Lawrence Stroll has been vocal about the team’s ambitions from the start. Eric Brandin said the team’s big ambitions are fueled by the belief that Team Silverstone is on the right track.

“We have the cars, the people, the resources,” said Eric Blandin.

“You can feel the energy. Even if it doesn’t work out this year or next year, or if you don’t make the progress you’re aiming for, in the end you’ll make it.”

“There is a strong feeling and conviction that we are on the right track. It will take us a few years to be a championship contender, but we will soon have what it takes to be successful.”
