British luxury car manufacturer Aston Martin will produce electric cars in the UK from 2025, the company said in a statement.
The carmaker says electric SUVs and sports cars will be produced in factories in England and Wales.
Aston Martin is 20% owned by the German automotive company Mercedes-Benz, and it has previously been speculated that production could take place in Germany.
At the same time, Aston Martin plans to launch hybrid versions of its cars this year before the release of all-electric models.
The British government has decided to ban the sale of new cars with internal combustion engines in the country from 2030.
