Aston Martin’s Formula 1 team has announced a long-term partnership with Aramco, the world’s largest production and reserves oil company. Lawrence Stroll’s racing stable is hereby renamed Aston Martin Aramco Cognizant Formula One Team.
The collaboration will focus on the development of internal combustion engines, sustainable fuels, advanced lubricants and the use of non-metallic materials in the vehicles. In addition to the joint research, the partnership also includes sponsorship rights, a licensing agreement and exclusive branding and endorsement rights for Aramco fuels and lubricants. This is also the reason that the team name is being changed.

Lawrence Stroll said of the partnership: “We’re in the sport to win, so I’m excited to welcome an incredible partner of the stature of Aramco, who I’ve learned has a tremendous amount of intellectual property and technical capabilities. which I know will help our team achieve our goals of winning the Formula 1 World Championship.”

Mohammed Al Qahtani, Senior Vice President Downstream at Aramco, added: “The partnership reflects Aramco’s efforts to reduce emissions from the global automotive and transportation industry. Our goal is to provide high-quality fuels and lubricants to the global automotive sector, and our partnership with the Aston Martin team will help raise awareness of our high-quality products.”
