Techno live – Astronomers are currently tracking more than 2,200 asteroid potentially dangerous with a diameter greater than 0.6 miles (1 kilometer) in the orbital environment Land. Fortunately, one rarely passes close enough to Earth to pose a real threat.
But that doesn’t mean anyone is interested in seeing what would happen if the space rock hit Earth, as was the case with the dinosaur-killing asteroid Chixculub 66 million years ago.
Asteroid launcher is a new web application that offers researchers the opportunity to discover the impact of asteroids, by launching from the page SpaceWednesday 28 December 2022.
The site is easy to use where users can select different compositions of space rock – asteroids made of iron, rock, carbon or gold, or comets – and select their diameter (up to a mile), speed and angle of impact.
Then, select a zero point on the map, anywhere in the world, and press Asteroid Launcher. At least there’s more than one way an asteroid can kill one kampungeven cities on Earth.
The platform captures a part of it, not only the size of the crater but also the fireballshock waves, destructive winds e earthquake all of which would scatter on impact.

So, assume that an asteroid similar to 99942 Apophis is expected to pass Earth in 2029 just above downtown Los Angeles, United States (USA).
