PAOK returned to winning ways after losing to Olympiakos with a 2-1 upset win in Tripoli over Asteras in the 12th matchday of the Super League.
With the return to the bench of the “two-headed” Rasvan Lucescu after serving his suspension, PAOK had the initiative in Tripoli in the first half but had no phases. The match went at a slow pace and the best chance of the “two-headed” team was in the 38th minute, a shot by Murg outside the area just outside. At the same time, Asteras moved in shallow waters and had more in mind not to concede a goal than to succeed
In the 2nd half PAOK came out to press but in the 50′ Asteras opened the scoring. Kaltsas pressed Michaelidis, who made the mistake, Yablonski turned one and Makeda from contact put it past Kotarski for 1-0. But in the 68th minute, the visitors equalized. Kontandelias passed to Otto, who turned the ball over and Despontov shot with Deli unwittingly pushing it into his team’s net. And two minutes later (70′) Oto’s shot was stopped by Tsintota’s crossbar. In the 80th minute, Chalov scored four times but Tsintotas saved Asteras. But in the 85th minute, from a pass by Chalov, Baba with a strong shot turned the game around with 1-2 for PAOK who got the precious victory.
The Resident yellowed the Zifkovits, Delhi.
