Associative life: the “Citizen Collective Together For Bélenga” holds its 1st meeting – AGP

LoMAKOKOU (north-east), December 24, 2023 (AGP) – The coordination office of the “Collectif Citoyen Ensemble Pour Bélenga”, exchanged with the members of the provincial coordination, during their very first meeting held on Saturday, December 23, in Makokou, provincial capital of Ogooué-Ivindo.

During this meeting, the provincial coordinator, Ulrich Mapé, first presented all the members of the said coordination, while setting out the main objectives of the movement.

Regarding the point on the main objectives of this Collective, Ulrich Mapé invited the various members to a sincere and pragmatic commitment to the defense of the rights and interests of the indigenous and local population, in particular, and to the Gabonese people in general, regarding the exploitation of the Bélenga iron deposit.

This point sparked fruitful discussions between the members of the coordination office present and the provincial coordinator.

Ulrich Mapé and his members also discussed preparations for the upcoming arrival in the province of the President of the Transition, Brigadier General, Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema. On this subject, the provincial coordination office intends to carry out a certain number of actions on the ground in the coming days.

The office of the Collectif Citoyen Ensemble Pour Bélenga has a total of 29 members, of which 25 are active and four other positions still remain to be filled.
