Cut off in its tracks by confinement, the Thionville Association for Rhythmic and Sports Gymnastics has resumed its training and had to move part of its sessions to the old indoor tennis courts due to the demolition of the Jean-Burger room. To accommodate as many practitioners as in other years, the club has doubled its slots, thanks to the involvement of volunteers and mini-coaches, reviewed its schedule and implemented a whole health protocol. The equipment is disinfected and access to the various gymnasiums is very controlled. “Parents play the game and understand perfectly, even if we regret not being able to welcome them during the toddler classes. We try to maintain things like l’Austrasian cup, which will take place on November 1, in Thionville, at the Jean-Pierre-Adams gymnasium, but it will be played behind closed doors. A competition is scheduled for Terville on November 8. By maintaining these appointments, the girls do not tell themselves that they are training for nothing ”, estimates Nelly Vitali, early childhood manager at ATGRS.

Events and competitions maintained
On the leisure side, the Halloween party will take place with a sense of movement and mandatory hand washing as well as the Christmas snack. “For our galas, we are not talking about cancellation. We will rehearse as if they had to take place. The next one is announced on February 6. We remain very positive. Even during the confinement, we kept the link with our practitioners through videos and games. Many messages have been sent to parents. “
Concretely, the followers of ribbon, balloon, clubs are indeed present. “We have 350 registered at the start of the season, and we have a few places left for children born between 2010 and 2014. Finally, we adapt and we think about each event differently. Our sports section with the Hélène-Boucher college brings together eight gymnasts. Nothing is canceled for the moment and we will be part of the French championship, in Calais, in January. “
