Associations denounce sexual exploitation of minors in the extractive zones of the East – Jornal OPaís

Different society organizations that defend human rights reported yesterday, in Luanda, situations of children being transformed into sexual objects by employees of extractive companies operating in the east of the country.

The reality was denounced by the organization Mwana Pwo and the G7, which work in the Lundas regions and the province of Moxico, respectively, during the National Conference on Natural Resources in Angola, which has been taking place since last Tuesday, 28th, in the capital from the country.

The director of the Mwana Pwo Association, Juliana António, made it known that, despite it being real, these minors are not aware that they are exposed to a situation of sexual exploitation.

On the other hand, the director of the Association mentioned that many minors have been contracting STDs, in addition to recording an exponential increase in the level of early pregnancy in these areas, as well as premature marriage.
