Association of Indonesian Artists Supports PDIP’s Ganjar Pranowo for 2024 Presidential Candidate

The Association of Indonesian Artists (GSI) declared its support for the 2024 presidential candidate (bacapres) from PDIP Ganjar Pranowo. It is known that GS is a forum for supporters of Ganjar Pranowo, filled with a number of famous Indonesian artists, comedians and musicians.

Those who have joined GSI include Roy Marten, Anwar Fuadi, Doyok, Tarzan, Tessy, Kadir, Polo, Dwi Yan, Lucky Perdana and Iwa K. In addition, GSI also consists of millennial generation influencers, celebrities and TikTokers.

It is known that the declaration activity was carried out in a series of events for the Grand Gathering of Ganjar Pranowo Volunteers with the theme ‘Caring for the Soul of the Archipelago’. By echoing the tagline ‘Gift for All’, the event was held at the Gelora Delta Sidoarjo Stadium, East Java.

“We, the Association of Indonesian Artists across the arts, have come to a consensus to declare, support Pak Ganjar as President of the Republic of Indonesia from 2024 to 2029,” said Roy Marten as Chair of the GSI in a written statement, Saturday (10/6/2023).

He said that GSI chose the white-haired presidential candidate because his figure had many advantages. Ganjar is considered to have a straightforward attitude, good at communicating and pro the common people.

In addition, GSI views Ganjar as a leader who is not rigid and able to mingle with various groups of people. So that it is easily accepted by all levels of society in Indonesia.

“Physically, Pak Ganjar is extraordinarily cool, has good appearance, cool rhetoric, more than adequate literacy, very experienced in speeches. But in it we see the concept for Indonesia in the future, Pak Ganjar is very pro-people. So simple, so firm but really like joking so there is no distance, “explained Roy.

He hopes that with the declaration from GSI for Ganjar Pranowo as President of the Republic of Indonesia in 2024, the community, both volunteers and the general public, will also support Ganjar.

“Hopefully with this declaration we encourage people to know that GSI’s choice was not wrong. Without the people, without you, GSI is meaningless. Let’s support Pak Ganjar together,” said Roy.

For your information, the Ganjar Pranowo Volunteer Gathering was attended by 100,000 volunteers from 164 volunteer organizations from various backgrounds and social backgrounds. Starting from farmers, fishermen, warteg owners, truck drivers, taxi and motorcycle taxi drivers, mothers, millennials, professionals, traditional leaders, ustaz and clerics, to student activists and university alumni.

This event was also enlivened by performances by famous national artists such as Dewi Persik, Soimah, Sule, Srimulat, Denny Cak Nan, Kezia Caroline, Maria Calista, and Abah Lala.
