“Assiut Governorate prepares 4,100 mosques and squares for Eid al-Fitr prayers”

Assiut Governorate has completed the preparation of 4,100 mosques and squares in various centers, cities and neighborhoods of the governorate, in coordination with the Awqaf Directorate in the governorate, to perform Eid al-Fitr prayers.

Major General Essam Saad, Governor of Assiut, announced the readiness of all mosques and squares designated to receive worshipers to perform Eid al-Fitr prayers in all parts of the governorate, stressing that cleaning and sterilization campaigns have been intensified in mosques and squares and their surroundings, in preparation for receiving worshipers.

The governor of Assiut stated that he will perform the blessed Eid al-Fitr prayer in the playground yard in front of the governorate’s general office, accompanied by the security, executive, popular and religious leaders. Pointing out that the Awqaf Directorate has finished preparing the mosques and squares attached to them in various villages and centers of the governorate to hold Eid Al-Fitr prayers, which are the mosques in which Friday prayers are performed weekly, according to what was approved by the Ministry of Awqaf.

The governor added, preparing lists of the names of “primary and reserve” preachers and imams, with the formation of an operations room in the directorate and continuous follow-up with the ministry to follow up the preparation for the blessed Eid Al-Fitr prayer, while emphasizing that the Awqaf Directorate alone is entrusted with preparing for the Eid prayer, whether in mosques or in the squares attached to it within the framework of its mandate. Legitimacy and legality on mosques as one of the general mandates carried out by state institutions.

The New Assiut City Authority finished preparing the largest prayer yard to receive the city’s residents for Eid Al-Fitr prayers. Referring to the provision of buses to transport the city’s residents free of charge from various parts of the city to the blessed Eid al-Fitr prayer square at the entrance to the city.

The agency indicated that the buses start operating at 4:30 am until the time of the Eid prayer, pointing out that buses move from all over the city to the prayer square.
