Assisting in Controlling Blood Supplement Tablets, Undip KKN Organizes ‘Drinking TTD Simultaneously’ Activities

(SUARABARU.ID)- Blood-boosting tablets (TTD) are blood-boosting tablets that have been given to female students since they were 12 years old. Giving iron tablets is an important thing because this activity is related to the health of female students, especially menstruation.

In Madrasah Ibtidaiah (MI) Al Falah, Kaligangsa Kulon Village, Brebes District, the administration of TTD is routinely carried out once a week on Fridays.

However, due to the lack of human resources at MI Al Falah, the giving of iron tablets is not controlled, especially during consumption. In response to this, Diponegoro University Team 1 Community Service Program tried to help through the monodisciplinary program ‘Assistant to the Joint Blood Supplement Tablet Consumption Program for MI Al-Falah Students.’ This program contains two activities, namely socialization related to the importance of iron tablets and a session of consuming blood tablets simultaneously.

This activity was held on Friday (20/01/2023) in class 6 MI Al Falah. The socialization contained information related to iron supplement tablets that should be consumed by young women who are already menstruating to prevent DHF as well as foods and drinks that are forbidden to be consumed or recommended to be consumed when taking iron tablets. MI Al Falah students looked enthusiastic listening to the presentation given.

As a form of controlling, the Undip Community Service Team then provided a TTD consumption card so that later the school could help check the consumption of TTD by MI Al Falah students. “Thank you for helping socialize the importance of iron tablets and how to consume them. So the children know that to consume TTD, you have to have breakfast first and bring water,” said Mrs. Ismi, homeroom teacher for class 6 MI Al Falah.
