Assistant Motor Vehicle Inspector and Middleman Caught Accepting Bribe in Thiruvananthapuram

Thiruvananthapuram: Assistant motor vehicle inspector and middlemen of motor vehicle department caught in vigilance for accepting Rs 25,000 bribe. Assistant Motor Vehicle Inspector Satish and the middleman Sajin Philipos were caught by the Alappuzha Vigilance today.

A few days ago, the enforcement department led by AMAI Satish Kumar caught two Taurus lorries belonging to the public works contractor who is a native of Alappuzha and was carrying heavy metal. Satish demanded a bribe of Rs 25,000 to avoid handing over the seized lorries to the Mining and Geology Department.

He also asked to hand over the money to the agent, Sajin Philippos. The complainant contractor reported this information to Vigilance East Zone Superintendent of Police VG Vinodkumar. According to his instructions, Alappuzha Vigilance Unit DYSP Girish P. A group led by Sarathi set up a trap and caught both of them red-handed while buying money on the Ambalapuzha National Highway today around 6.30 pm. The arrested accused will be produced before the Kottayam Vigilance Court.

The vigilance team consisted of DYSP, inspectors Pranthamar, Mahesh Kumar and Rajesh, SIAs Stanley Thomas, Basant and Jayakumar and CPOs Shyam, Sudheesh, Shiju Sanil, Liju and Sumesh.
