DIY NEWS – The Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs noted that the disbursement of productive assistance from the president (banpres) for micro businesses of IDR 2.4 million has reached 5.6 million micro-entrepreneurs affected by COVID-19 with a total assistance of IDR 13.4 trillion.
“This assistance has been distributed to 5.6 million micro business actors spread across 34 provinces with a total assistance of Rp. 13.4 trillion,” said Deputy of Financing of the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs Hanung Harimba Rachman Hospital, as reported by Antara, Thursday, September 10, 2020.
To speed up activity recovery the economyHanung hopes that before the end of September 2020 as many as 9.16 million micro-entrepreneurs can receive the first phase of the productive presidential assistance with a total budget of IDR 22 trillion.
Hanung said that the assistance initiated by President Joko Widodo was prioritized for micro business actors who had not been able to access bank financing so that they were vulnerable to stop their business due to the pandemic.
Recipients of cash assistance amounting to Rp2.4 million, he said, will also be added again this year. From the initial stage as many as 9.1 million UMKM, rose to 12 million, and was recently proposed again to 15 million perpetrators UMKM.
“We see higher enthusiasm, so we suggest that the target recipient be increased to 15 million, maybe more,” he said.

Therefore, he hopes that the local government through their respective cooperative and SME offices can help provide data on micro-entrepreneurs in the regions to be proposed for assistance.
