The Council of Senior Scholars in Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, in its meeting last Thursday, headed by the Grand Imam, Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, expressed its beautiful thanks, gratitude and appreciation to Dr. Muhammad Al-Mahrasawi, President of Al-Azhar University, on the occasion of reaching the legal retirement age, stressing that this honor comes in appreciation of what Dr. Al-Mahrasawi presented during His presidency of Al-Azhar University witnessed remarkable effort and efficiency, and a continuous quest to advance scientific research, raise the efficiency of its faculties, and the successes and praises of the university from major international and local universities for solid and innovative scientific research..
Dr. Salama Daoud graduated in Azhar education and memorized the Noble Qur’an at an early age. He obtained a BA in Arabic from Al-Azhar University. He was one of the outstanding students. He was appointed as a teaching assistant in the Department of Rhetoric and Criticism in 1989 AD, and obtained a degree of specialization (Masters) in the Department of Rhetoric and Criticism, and was appointed as an assistant teacher. In the Department of Rhetoric and Criticism in the Faculty of Arabic Language in Itai Al-Baroud in 1993 AD, then completed the scientific research journey and obtained the degree of internationalism (PhD) and was appointed as a teacher in the same department and the faculty of science in 1998 AD, then promoted to Assistant Professor in the Department of Rhetoric and Criticism, Faculty of Arabic Language in Itai Al-Baroud 2002 AD.
Dr. Salama Daoud worked as an associate professor at Umm Al-Qura University in Al-Qunfudhah Branch from 2003-2014 AD, and Professor and Head of the Department of Rhetoric and Criticism, Faculty of Arabic Language in Itai Al-Baroud in 2015 AD, and held the position of Vice Dean of the Faculty of Arabic Language in Itai Al-Baroud for Education and Student Affairs in 2016 AD, and Dean of the same faculty in 2019AD.
Dr. Salama Daoud is a member of a number of committees, including: the committees for developing curricula for international students in Al-Azhar, the committee for preparing books for teaching Arabic for non-native speakers approved by the Sheikh of Al-Azhar for the Center for the Education of International Students in Al-Azhar, the committee for plans and curricula at Al-Azhar University, and the committee for preparing the study plan for the department Rhetoric for graduate students, and the study plan committee for the Department of Rhetoric for graduate students.
Dr. Salama Daoud has also published a number of books and literature in local and Arab publishing houses, has dozens of research papers in refereed scientific journals, and supervised many scientific theses (Master’s and PhD) inside and outside Al-Azhar University, and participated in many local, regional and international conferences..
