Process Asset Confiscation Bill is now progressing after previously being highlighted by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) because it was not completed. So how far is the process of the Asset Confiscation Bill?
Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud Md said the Asset Confiscation Bill had been signed by a number of ministers and heads of institutions. Mahfud said Asset Confiscation Bill will soon be sent to the DPR for discussion.
“I recently chaired a more technical meeting regarding the Draft Asset Confiscation Law. I informed you that the text containing all the substance has been completed and has been initialed by the minister or head of institution or head of the relevant institution, in this case Menkumham, Minister of Finance, Attorney General, The National Police Chief, the Head of PPATK and I as the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs have signed an initial that will be sent to the DPR,” said Mahfud, at a press conference at his office, Friday (14/4/2023).
Mahfud said the meeting cleared up the technical matters of the Asset Confiscation Bill. Mahfud emphasized that the technical meeting that was held had no effect on the substance that had been signed by the ministers.
“Therefore, in a short time the draft of the Asset Confiscation Law will soon be sent to the DPR,” said Mahfud.
