They mainly concern Forbach and Saint-Avold. What is surprising is that the vast majority of those in custody are minors, often under the age of 16. They are suspected of having caused fires or possessed incendiary devices. »
What happens to these young people?
“Three were presented to an investigating judge this Sunday. While waiting to go before the children’s judge, they were placed under judicial control with a curfew regime, that is to say the ban on leaving the family home in the evening and at night. Other young people are still in custody; the legal outcome will no doubt be the same. »
Can the parents of these minors be worried?
“Investigations will be launched for parental neglect, in view of the failures. In addition, it should be remembered that, criminally, parents are financially responsible for the offenses of their children. »
Did other violence still take place this weekend?
“Indeed, there have been attacks on public buildings. The House of Justice and Law, located avenue de l’Europe at Wiesberg in Forbach, was targeted by a Molotov cocktail. An office was destroyed and smoke and soot spread throughout the premises. It is all the more regrettable that this institution is turned towards the inhabitants. In 2022, of the 9,000 contacts made, 60% of referrals concerned the inhabitants of Forbach. It’s really destroying one’s own property. »
