“Assemblywoman unveils million-dollar program to protect small businesses, particularly winemakers in the South Bronx and Upper Manhattan”

A new program that seeks to increase the protection of small businesses, especially winemakers in the South Bronx and Upper Manhattan against the increase in violent crimes against them.

This Monday, Assemblywoman Amanda Septimo together with the Small Business Group and the Bronx Community Foundation unveiled a pilot program that will have funds of up to one million dollars and seeks to benefit neighborhood businesses from the South Bronx, Harlem and Washington Heights in Manhattan

Under the initiative, security infrastructure such as panic buttons, better resolution surveillance camera systems, payment systems, among others, will be provided.

“A million dollars is not going to be enough to help all the wineries but we are going to see if we can start with this pilot and in the future we are going to increase the money that is available to help all the wineries. The application will open the June 1st and before that we will have more information on the internet”, says Seventh.

The program seeks to help keep business owners, their employees and communities safe so that the local economy thrives.
