Austria also rejects the admission with the argument of Pull factor from: If you take in refugees, more and more follow. Is this argument completely wrong?
The best remedy for that Pull factor is to let people drown in the sea – that would be an unsurpassable deterrent. If countries in the EU something like that in your head, but these are no longer countries that have the values of EU represented. So, that’s not possible!
But in 2020, I think we’re much further away from the fear we had in 2015 of drowning or not caring was not an option for any country. Today you have the impression that it tilts.
Of the Pull factor is understandable: If you bring people from the islands, new ones are added. But that cannot be the whole strategy, that for individual countries only that Pull factor counts.
Luxembourg has been with everyone for months ship helped out of the Mediterranean Sea rescued people. Germany and France have not yet perished. No European country will break the burden if the few thousand people rescued from the sea are distributed and solidarity is involved.

Whether financial or migration or corona crisis, we always have one Solidarity crisis. Less in institutions than in the member states. If we don’t overcome the national grocery spirit, then things will go wrong.
If we find solutions now, people don’t understand where Hungary benefits more than Italy. Nobody understands that anymore. Countries that trample on the rule of law are also big winners. The financial transfers come from the countries that EU stand.
