Assaulted a 22 year old in Strasbourg for wearing a skirt

AGI – A 22-year-old student was insulted and attacked by three boys on the street in Strasbourg, France, because she was wearing a skirt. France Bleu Alsace’s Twitter account posted a photo of Elisabeth’s bruised face. Photo that went viral and sparked the fury of hundreds of users. “The facts presented are very serious,” government spokesman Gabriel Attal said. “In France we must be able to go out on the streets dressed as we want. We cannot accept that a woman in France today feels in danger, is harassed, threatened or beaten because of her way of dressing,” she added.

Deputy Minister Marle’ne Schiappa, in charge of equality affairs, went to Strasbourg yesterday to speak about the safety of women in public. “When we see street harassment, sexist or sexual assaults on women in a public space, we have to fight back and call the police,” she told television channel Lci.
