Two jail officers have been killed and three others significantly injured Tuesday at a motorway tollbooth in northwest France in an assault on their van transporting an inmate. The latter, Mohamed Amra, continues to be on the run, as are his accomplices.

The assault befell shortly after 11:00 native time on the Incarville motorway tollbooth, when the inmate was being transferred from Evreux jail to the Rouen courtroom (northwest of Paris).
