After a year of hiatus, the Assassin’s Creed franchise is back. The newest part is called Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Where in the previous two games you were a Medjay in Egypt and a Spartan Mercenary in Greece are you completely different now. So in Valhalla, as the name suggests, you are a tough Viking. But how does this fit into the Assassin backstory of the Assassin’s Creed series? Or is the game just set up to play a game of the Viking? You hear it from Jelle and JJ in the Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla Premium Review.
A return to past glory?
The Assassin’s Creed games have received quite a bit of criticism in the last few years. First there were too many Assassin’s Creed games that were hardly innovative, and the quality was not always top either, and now we are in a phase where Assassin’s Creed looks less and less like Assassin’s Creed. That doesn’t have to be bad. God of War also makes a huge change in style. Origins and Odyssey were clearly different from the predecessor. More sandbox, more action oriented. How about Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Where can you place this part? Jelle and JJ are going to tell you.
Are we going for Eivor or Eivor in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
In Valhalla you step into the shoes of Eivor. Eivor is a Norwegian Viking who goes to England with his or her brother Sigurd and the rest of the Norsemanne in search of a new home. Eivor can optionally be a man or woman, but you can also choose to let the game determine that. What did the two gentlemen choose and does Eivor as a character manage to make just as impact as our hero Ezio? Oh are we dealing with just a new addition to the list of AC main characters here?
