The editor of Bloomberg received details of the game codenamed “rift”, which was originally supposed to be created as an add-on to Assassin’s creed Valhalla from 2020, but it was decided to turn the project into a full-fledged production. The title is expected to debut at the end of 2022 or in 2023.
The main character of the new Assassin’s creed will be Basim-a popular character from Valhalla. According to informants, the scale of production will be smaller compared to the latest titles from this universe.
“The game will not be a massive open-world RPG like previous installments of the series, instead focusing more on stealth gameplay.”
Assassin’s creed rift will debut before Assassin’s creed infinity, an ambitious Ubisoft project that will be a hub for new stories in the series.
Jason Schreier contacted Ubisoft about the leaks, but a spokesman for the company said that it “does not comment on rumors and speculation”, because such situations do not serve well the teams responsible for the games and the communities themselves. Ubisoft, however, has to work on a solid production set consisting of new and returning IPS.
The situation is interesting because UK Eurogamer he confirmed that he had heard about the game-the action may be located in Baghdad (Iraq). Journalists spoke with José Araiza (producer of Assassin’s creed Valhalla), who suggested that Basim may return in the future.
