On Thursday, we informed you that Ubisoft announced in the report for the past quarter cancellation of four games a two titles postponed. The first one has been announced for quite some time, it is a 1st person action adventure game Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. About the latter, the company said only that it is a “smaller premium title”. However, journalist Jason Schreier quickly came up with a clarification in an article for the magazine Bloomberg.
According to Schreier, citing sources close to Ubisoft, the second project is Assassin’s Creed Rift. Title about which for the first time informed already a few months ago. It’s supposed to be a smaller, more linear game, it’s supposed to take place in Baghdad, and the main hero should be Basim, who already appeared in Valhalla. Originally, it was supposed to be an expansion for the Viking part, but in the end Rift became an independent game. Schreier writes in a new article that the title was originally supposed to be released in February of next year, but the development was significantly delayed and we will finally see it only in the second quarter.
We will probably get an official announcement in September, when it will take place special event dedicated to the future of the Assassin’s Creed series.
Yesterday, Ubisoft said in addition to Avatar it’s delayed a “smaller unannounced premium game.” That game is Assassin’s Creed Rift, Bloomberg News has confirmed, bumped from February to spring. Leaves Ubisoft with an anemic lineup for this fiscal year https://t.co/l8isA17bUm
