Assassin’s Creed Mirage: Returning to Linear Gameplay and Classic Length

The last three Assassin’s Creed titles have all been more RPGs than the stealth-focused action-adventures that made the series famous. With Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Ubisoft is taking a step back to bring back the more linear gameplay that so many have been asking for, while scaling back the adventure to a degree.

And it seems that there are more things than gameplay that will remind us of the previous installments of this beloved series, as the length of the adventure is also on the same scale as the classics. During an AMA on Reddit with Narrative Director Sarah Beaulieu, she had this to say about how long it will take to complete the game: “In terms of playing time, we are closer to the first AC games.”

The older games were usually around 15 hours long if you just focused on the story, but you could easily more than double the playtime if you wanted to do all the side quests as well.

We’re actually looking forward to a shorter and hopefully tighter game (not everything needs to be the biggest), but what do you think of this?
