Ubisoft was eight months away from officially announcing Assassin’s Creed Mirage when Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier revealed that the game originally spoiled its existence as an expansion for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. This will obviously make many question the title’s price tag, so it’s no surprise that details were left out in the marketing campaign… until now.
asGame Informer’s latest cover storyAs part of Assassin’s Creed Mirage’s creative director, Stephane Boudon, confirmed that the game is supposed to be DLC for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, bringing Eivor to the Middle East. The pitch was so popular that Ubisoft decided to make it a standalone game:
“It was fun because we did all the work for the DLC hype, but at the end, we’ve seen how that might work on the pitch, so at the end, we end the demo with “but it could be more.” So we pushed a little bit, and it worked, and it’s been great for everybody.
Does the more linear 20-30 hours of Assassin’s Creed Mirage sound more appealing to you, or should you stick with the massive open world/RPG formula?
