Assassin’s Creed Mirage: A Return to Roots with Stealth and Parkour Focus

The upcoming Assassin’s Creed Mirage is described as a return to the franchise’s roots, with a more limited scope and focus on stealth and parkour.

While the game abandons many of the newer RPG mechanics, it retains the mission structure introduced in Assassin’s Creed Origins, letting you gradually tackle different objectives simultaneously.

Recently, the game’s Quest and World Director Simon Arsenault told Gameactor that returning to the more linear and scripted quests of the earlier games would be too limiting and run counter to their ambitions of building a reactive and living game world.

“We could have done this[回到舊的使命結構]but we felt it took away a bit of the emphasis on the city itself,”Asano tells us.“The old mission structure also came with a lot of limitations. If you strayed too far, you needed to have mission failures. You needed to have out of bounds. All that stuff was old school, and in the latest games, we don’t have that anymore , and we feel free because of it.

During our interview, Quest and World Director also told us that in some cases they “cheated this rule” and introduced scripted sequences, although for the most part you’re free to chase whatever leads you like or goals.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage will release on October 5th on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. You can read our preview of the game here.
