Assassin’s Creed comics writer sneaks in a meta-joke – Assassin’s Creed Valhalla

In the Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla comic “The Convert,” a writer smuggles in a joke about the language of the Isu, the first civilization in the universe’s lore.

Learning any second language is difficult, and the author of “The Convert” does not seem to have had enough preparation time to properly study the Isu writing, as in one panel, the translation of the Isu text reads: “Ifwrite this shit like esplais and it will be understood by the muc”translated into better English as“If someone could explain how to write this shit, it would be much appreciated.

Fans point out that this isn’t a good example of Isu writing, as it simply translates the ancient language by completely translating its alphabet into English. Still, it’s an interesting discovery when you imagine a poor writer tasked with translating a language that only the most hardcore Assassin’s Creed fans can understand.

Casual fans may not even know about the Isu, as they only appear sporadically in games and other media. It just goes to show how little Ubisoft has grasped on the sprawling overarching narrative in Assassin’s Creed that one writer made fun of the Isu language in the spinoff graphic novel.
