A message was discovered on LinkedIn from a Ubisoft marketing employee who Assassin’s Creed Codename RED describes as the “biggest blockbuster of 2024.” The message has since been amended and the year has been removed.
Oops, a mistake, but in what sense? Oops, accidentally said too much? Or oops, that year is not correct at all?
In any case, it is not the first time that Assassin’s Creed Codename RED, in which we finally go to ancient Japan, is set in 2024. Earlier rumors also pointed to a release in 2024 and a release next year would simply make sense. Otherwise, Ubisoft would be without a major Assassin’s Creed release.
By the way, Assassin’s Creed Codename RED is just one of the new “next-gen” Assassin’s Creed games that Ubisoft is working on. There are still Assassin’s Creed Codename HEXE in Assassin’s Creed Codename INVICTUS. All those games would be integrated into Assassin’s Creed Infinitya new “platform” for various Assassin’s Creed experiences.
It looks like a few months ago the Business Development and Brand Partnership teams at Ubisoft were looking for sponsorship partners for #AssassinsCreed Codename Red in 2024, which could act as a partial confirmation of the game actually being planned for 2024 at the moment! pic.twitter.com/m7mq2z3Gp5
