Assange has been imprisoned in Belmarsh Prison in London since 2019, when the United States tried to get him extradited.
The couple met when Assange lived in the Ecuadorian embassy in London, in an attempt to avoid extradition. They have two children together.
“I am relieved that reason has prevailed, and I hope there will be no further interference in our marriage,” Moris told the British Press Association (PA).
“Mr Assange’s request was received, assessed and processed in the usual way, as for any inmate,” said a spokesman for the prison.

Assange, an Australian citizen, was arrested by police after five years at the Ecuadorian embassy. There he had tried to get political asylum, in an attempt to avoid being extradited to Sweden, where he was accused of abuse.
Assange feared he would be taken from Sweden to the United States, which has issued a comprehensive indictment in 18 counts against the 50-year-old. He is accused, among other things, of violating the American espionage law.
The indictment is related to the fact that in 2010 WikiLeaks published 500,000 classified documents that revealed unflattering aspects of the US war in Iraq and Afghanistan.
A British judge in January rejected a US request for extradition, but an appeal was filed and the case is still open.
No date has been set for the wedding. The couple has been trying to get married for several years.
