Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has announced that he will file a defamation case against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over a tweet linking him to the Adani Group. Speaking during a press conference, Sarma stated that the defamation case will be filed after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Guwahati on April 14. Gandhi had tweeted on Saturday, referring to some leaders who had quit the Congress in recent years and joined BJP, citing the names of Ghulam Nabi Azad, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Himanta Biswa Sarma, Kiran Kumar Reddy and Anil K Antony. Sarma had earlier tweeted in response, referring to the Bofors and National Herald scams. PM Modi will be visiting Guwahati to attend events including the creation of a record for Bihu with over 11,000 dancers and drummers.
