AS Eupen has not yet issued an official statement. In the BRF interview, however, AS director Christoph Henkel denied the rumors regarding the withdrawal of the Aspire Football Dreams from Eupen and made it clear: “The statement that was made is wrong”.
“I can only say that Aspire’s commitment is not up for discussion and Aspire will continue to meet its obligations in Eupen,” emphasizes Henkel. “We currently cannot say what total budget we can start the season with. In any case, we will have to cut back on our overall budget, ”the AS director continued.
Henkel also makes it clear that the financing of AS Eupen from Qatar will continue beyond the coming season. “We now have the promise that we can plan with the commitment of Aspire for the next two years and so the sale is not announced for the time being.”
