ASML directors Peter Wennink and Martin van den Brink will retire next year

Peter Wennink and Martin van den Brink, two directors of the Dutch chip machine manufacturer ASML, will retire next year. They’re retiring. The new CEO will be Christophe Fouquet.

Peter Wennink is currently CEO and Van den Brink is CTO. Both will retire in April next year, reports ASML. This coincides with the shareholders’ meeting at which shareholders vote on changes in management. Fouquet has worked at ASML for fifteen years and is currently chief business officer.

Van den Brink will not have a successor in the same position. Also in an explanation It is unclear exactly why that is. In response to the question why there is no new CTO, Wennink and Fouquet say that Van den Brink has built a strong team in which they have a lot of confidence. Fouquet appears to be taking over Van den Brink’s responsibilities. There will be a new role within the management: chief customer officer, which will be filled by Jim Koonmen. Tweakers conducted several interviews with Van den Brink in recent years, in which he spoke about the prelude to ASML’s hegemony with EUV and about the developments of recent years and the future.
