The Aslef union has announced new strikes, including on Saturday, June 3, which could impact travel to the FA Cup Final and the Derby at Epsom Downs. Drivers are protesting over a “risible” 4% pay offer from the 16 train companies, and a lack of pay rise since 2019. General Secretary Mick Whelan stated that the RDG had also rejected their proposals to improve train services, efficiency and modernisation. Additional strikes will take place on May 12 and 31 with the withdrawal of non-contractual overtime between May 15 and 20, as well as on May 13 and June 1.
