He stressed that more than half a million doses of this drug are under federal control and that only 4,000 doses have been provided to the New York City hospital system.

De Blasio also referred to the need to provide health insurance to the families of public servants, since about 260 of these workers have lost their lives in the fight against Covid-19.

As an immediate action and following the request of the Municipal Labor Committee, the city government will extend the medical coverage for the members of these families for an additional 45 days.

Regarding the health alert by the pediatric multiple inflammation syndromeHe added that 38 cases have been detected in the city and 9 are being investigated.

In addition, 47% of the patients tested positive for Covid-19, 81% had antibodies, and one death was reported.

Immediate actions in this regard include having the public hospital system test all children for antibodies and alert parents with children older than one month.
