Helse Bergen has reported that they are under a lot of pressure at the moment. The state administrator is now asking for regional measures for twelve municipalities in their catchment area.

The state administrator in Western Norway asks the government to introduce regional measures in twelve municipalities in the catchment area of Helse Bergen.
The municipalities concerned are Alver, Askøy, Austevoll, Austrheim, Bergen, Bjørnafjorden, Kvam, Osterøy, Samnanger, Vaksdal, Voss and Øygarden. They request the following measures:
- Mandatory for face masks where it is not possible to keep distance indoors in the public space and on public transport.
- An order that the employer must ensure that employees can perform their work to the greatest possible extent without increased risk of infection in the workplace or on journeys to and from.
- Restriction on participants in private events.
- Obligation to register guests at restaurants.
- Quarantine obligation until a negative test result, also for school-age children who are close contacts – regardless of vaccination status.
Asks more municipalities to follow
The infection trend in Western Norway is rising and 252 new cases of infection were registered on Thursday. At Haukeland they have described a very pressured situation where there is great demand and full bedposts. There are now 40 corona infected hospitalized in the health trusts in the region. At Haukeland University Hospital, they have already reduced the surgery by 20 percent.
The state administrator believes that these measures are necessary to control the pandemic and to ensure that municipalities and hospitals can provide critical services.
– We have a burdened health trust and have a good number of infected so measures are natural. From Tuesday, it was introduced that we the state administrator should record measures for the health director. So we have been in meetings with our municipalities since today early, but drafting regulations takes some time. In addition, the state administrator recommends several municipalities to follow the infection situation closely and assess the need for strengthened recommendations and measures. This advice applies to the following municipalities: Eidfjord, Fedje, Gulen, Masfjorden, Modalen and Ulvik.
Regional measures for municipalities in Eastern Norway
Earlier Thursday, present the Støre government a number of regional measures for Oslo and many municipalities in Eastern Norway. Several municipalities in Eastern Norway have asked to be included in the regional measures.
The regional measures – which will be introduced from midnight – currently apply to the following municipalities:
Oslo, Asker, Bærum and the catchment area of Ahus: Grue, Kongsvinger, Nord-Odal, Sør-Odal, Eidskog, Hurdal, Nannestad, Ullensaker, Gjerdrum, Nes, Lørenskog, Lillestrøm, Rælingen, Aurskog-Høland, Enebakk, Nordre Follo, Ås , Nesodden, Frogn, Nittedal and Eidsvoll.
They have received the following regional measures:
- Mandatory for the use of face masks where it is not possible to keep at least one meter distance in shops, malls, restaurants, public transport, indoor station areas and taxis. The obligation to wear a face mask does not apply to children under the age of 12, or to those who for medical or other reasons cannot wear a face mask. It is also recommended to wear a face mask where there are a lot of people and it is difficult to keep your distance, for example when you are going to pick up your jacket after an event at the same time as many others or are on your way out of a football stadium.
- An order that workplaces where home offices are possible without compromising important and necessary services shall ensure that employees work from home all or part of the week. This can be done, for example, so that the employees work from home half the time.
- Number limits for private indoor events of up to 100 people in a public place or in rented / borrowed premises.
- Duty for restaurants and organizers to register guests in order to notify guests in case of infection exposure.
- Requirements for table serving of alcohol for restaurants and events that have a license to serve alcohol
- Requirement that all guests have seats in restaurants that have a liquor license
