ASKÖ Donau Versicherung DBK Steyrer Hexen: The result of the Steyrer Minihexen was impressive

Due to the flu epidemic and the school activities, the originally 15-person group had been reduced to a good six girls – the performance and commitment of the mini witches is impressive – two games in Linz and one in Wels were scheduled .

STEYR. Guided by the “old-timers” Puritscher and Maresch, the newcomers were able to get their first field experiences without worries. It was clear from the start that a win was unlikely given the limited opportunities to change. However, the fighting spirit was unbroken and throughout the course of the day progress was clearly visible. In the first game against the Lions from Enns, the mini witches had a hard time, because especially the newcomers had to get used to the somewhat tougher style of play. However, the young lions still had to fight hard to get the final score of 50:29 (26:16). In the second game against the “Mini Devils” from Linz, reinforced by a young woman, Miniwitch Ljutic set in motion. Despite the lack of playing experience – it was only his second game – he managed to put the Devils in serious difficulty. Their excellent defense made it difficult for opponents to set up. Despite the competition on the pitch, the atmosphere was very good, mainly due to the very correct and courteous manners of the young people from Linz. However, a fairly sharp defeat could not be avoided here either. Final score: 64:23 (38:16). The third and last game was – finally – played against the girls from Gmunden. Minihexen entered the game a little faster against the U12 women’s team. However, the last reserves of strength have dwindled significantly and it was just a matter of learning and not letting the gap get too great. Here too we fought to the end with all that could still be mustered in terms of strength. Final score against the Swans: 20:56 (10:34)
