The response came after the Dutch envoy responded to a Tirumurti social media post, in which the Permanent Representative of India had shared his remarks at the debate. United Nations Security Council about Ukraine on Thursday.
“You should not abstain in the General Assembly. Respect the UN Charter,” said van Oosterom.

“India remains on the side of peace and therefore believes that neither side will be victorious in this conflict and while those affected by this conflict will continue to suffer, diplomacy will be the eternal victim,” the Indian diplomat said in a statement.
Tirumurti also explained New Delhi’s concerns about the destabilizing effects of the Ukraine conflict on global oil prices as well as grain and fertilizer shortages.
“This (conflict) has a disproportionate impact on the Global South and developing countries,” he said.
