Jakarta –
Georginio Wijnaldum has not extended his contract with Liverpool. He also doesn’t want to talk much about it.
Joining Liverpool in 2016, Wijnaldum has become an irreplaceable part of the game scheme Jürgen Klopp. He has appeared in 199 matches so far and scored 19 goals, and helped lead the Reds to champions Premier League last season.
Even so, Wijnaldum’s contract at Anfield only remains until June 2021, and has not been extended. If Liverpool do not immediately add to Wijnaldum’s tenure, the 30-year-old player can move for free this summer.
The problem is, the signs of Wijnaldum’s contract extension have yet to be seen. The player even seemed lazy to answer and kept his developments a secret when asked.
“I can’t say anything about that,” Wijnaldum told the Dutch daily. Het Parool, quoted by Sport Witness. He is currently undergoing a group training camp Netherlands national team.
“Just ask Liverpool. Aren’t they answering?” he continued.
“I can not say anything about that, including whether or not there is a new contract discussion between me and Liverpool. Sorry, “explained the Rotterdam-born player.
Last summer, he was rumored to be moving to Barcelona. It is due to existence Ronald Koeman there, who was previously the coach of Wijnaldum in the Dutch national team.
If Wijnaldum finally chooses to leave Liverpool, it is possible that he will reunite with Koeman at the Camp Nou, even though the opportunity to move to another club is also wide open.
